The Inflatable Pool, the Star Accessory of Summer 2026
As temperatures rise, the inflatable pool has become the most popular investment for French families. Less expensive than a permanent pool, easy to install and store, it offers an ideal solution for cooling off at home without spending a fortune.
Which type of inflatable pool to choose?
Round or rectangular pool?
Round pools are generally easier to set up and stabilize. Rectangular pools offer more swimming space and fit better in a regular garden.
By size
- Small (less than 2m): Ideal for children under 6. Set up in 5 minutes, little water needed.
- Medium (2m to 3m): Perfect for a family of 2-4 people. Best value for money.
- Large (3m to 5m): For large families and convivial moments. Requires an air pump.
Installation and maintenance
Where to install your pool?
- Choose a flat, clean surface, away from trees (leaves)
- Plan for easy access for the garden hose
- Install a ground mat or foam tiles underneath to protect the bottom
- Place it in partial shade to avoid water getting too hot
Water treatment
Even for an inflatable pool, water treatment is important:
- Change the water every 2-3 days of use
- Use special chlorine tablets for small pools
- Cover the pool when not in use to prevent algae and insects
- Check pH between 7 and 7.4 with test strips
Pool safety
Important: Child supervision is mandatory at all times. Even 10 cm of water can be dangerous for toddlers.
- Never leave a child alone near the pool
- Drain or cover the pool after each use
- Learn first aid gestures
